Biography

In 1973 I received a BFA, magna cum laude, from Hartford Art School, W. Hartford, CT and continued with postgraduate studies at Akademie der Bildenen Künste, Munich, Germany.
My works on/of paper reference artifacts, antique manuscripts and books, deconstructing paper and text and using it in metaphorical ways. Through the manipulation of the antique materials, history, memory and time merge in a hybrid form revealing how language can become visual through re-interpretation, often invoking a metaphysical quality of contemplation and timelessness.
Works have been acquired by the Special Collections Libraries of Vassar College, Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, Bowdoin College, Baylor University, Skidmore College and Wesleyan University; and can be found in the Permanent Book Arts Collections of National Museum of Women in the Arts and The Center for Book Arts, NYC.
